In addition to appearing in the new educational video produced the Essex County Prosecutors Office,  Asia D. Smith was chosen as a speaker to highlight the importance of the services offered to victim/survivors, and urged stakeholders and members of the community to become more involved in eradicating violence.

 Many notable speakers participated, including Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray and Senator Teresa M. Ruiz.

To commemorate National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office unveiled a video and website to help crime victims understand the jargon and process that unfolds for them.

The site breaks down 12 categories of crime including: domestic violence, homicide, child abuse, gang violence, sexual assault and cyber crimes.
